The recent statement by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha at the Dewan Rakyat today that our nation is only feeling the minimum impact of the global economic crisis and financial meltdown.
Whilst i hope that i am wrong in this respect but the prevailing economic situation in the country begs to differ. For a start most of the commodities are experiencing low pricing especially palm oil which hit rock-bottom. All these industries are facing financial problems and the possibility of retrenchment is imminent thus creating social problems for the government.
The manufacturing sectors fare no better. With sales dropping and collections being restricted and couple by the financial squeeze, retrenchment is inevitable. A very gloomy prospect for our economy.
In all fairness, the government is trying their best to alleviate this problem financial stimulus being introduce to combat the economic woes but can it really sustain the impact.
While it is pointless to finger point any party for this problem, it is better for interested parties to
really sit down together whether BN or PR to chart our future in facing this problem. At the end of the day the ones that suffers most is the RAKYAT. Please do the needful because the RAKYAT are crying for HELP.........
