Today chinese around the world will be celebrating Tung Chit. According to tradition, Tung Chit is in fact bigger than Chinese New Year. Apparently we tend to emphasize more on Chinese New Year.
This morning work up and helped my wife to prepare Tong Yuen, something like glutinous balls (similar to fish ball) . Later will send some to my friend Ricky who is my neighbour. He likes it cold while i prefer hot. Different taste.
Today will be quick hectic as i have to meet up with my friends in the afternoon and also i'll be pasting up notices around the apartments in respect of the ongoings around the vicinity through our committee. Hopefully residents will log on to the blog for a first hand notice.
Coming back to this Tung Chit, it has passed down from generation to generation. Even though the preparation had differs when i was just a small kid, the meaning of celebrating this festival is still very much alive. Therefore, i urged all chinese to continue upholding this tradition for many many more generations.
The traditional festival that had been created by our forefathers ought to be followed by the younger generations for the preservation of our culture and tradition. It's is our roots and we must preserved it.
